UNIEKE SHOW THE MADD OP PARADE UTRECHT
De Rotterdamse band The Madd heeft speciaal voor De Parade in Utrecht een unieke show in elkaar getimmerd. Het betreft De Veelste Grote Nederbiet Show waarin de band andermans jaren 60 Nederbiet klassiekers ten gehore zal brengen.
Onder het mom: ‘Nederbiet is niet dood,
Nederbiet leeft!’, zal The Madd niet als zichzelf, maar als De Zombeatles
optreden. Van 17 tot en met 19 juli speelt de band vermomd als uit de dood
herrezen zombies zowel Nederlands- als Engelstalig materiaal uit de rijke
Nederlandse beathistorie. Zo passeren nummers als Ik heb geen zin om op te
staan van HET en Dracula van ZZ & De Maskers de revue. Verder
komen groepen als The Symptomes, Q65, The Jets en The Cats aan bod. De
Zombeatles zullen worden bijgestaan door een scala aan gastartiesten en niet de
minsten. Zo zullen Torre Florim (De Staat), Peter Nuijten en Philip 'Byron'
Elzerman (The Zipps), Ronnie Splinter (The Outsiders), Bart van Liemt (The
Sheer), Lucky Fonz III en DWDD-Jakhals Sjoerd hun opwachting maken. De
toegangsprijs voor de show bedraagt 7,50 euro. De Parade in Utrecht vindt
plaats van 16 juli tot en met 1 augustus in het Moreelsepark. Voor meer

Denis Wielemans (28) drummer of Belgian indie band 'Girls in Hawaii' died in a car accident in Brussls last sunday. Damn sad news that is. Our best wishes to Girls In Hawaii and their families and close friends.
‘Perky indie-punk scuffles’ NME
Essex based indie-punkers Redtrack are taking their first tentative steps on the road to possible future music stardom, after inking a deal with Fierce Panda imprint Label Fandango Records. The deal will see the 3-piece band release 3 singles and an album as the latest members of the Club Fandango/Fierce Panda family that has included such luminaries as The Maccabees, Art Brut, The Von Bondies and The Ravonettes.
The great news comes as Billy (lead singer), Phil (bassist) and Pete (drummer) tour across the UK, entertaining eager audiences with their eclectic style and emotive tunes. With their first single on Label Fandango Perfectly Fine Intellectual due to hit the shops on the 31st May, the band are definitely riding on the crest of a wave that began with their winning Channel 4’s Unsigned Band competition in 2009, leading to a special guest band appearance on hit teen-soap Hollyoaks and special TV features on ITV and Channel 5!
Redtrack release their highly anticipated debut album on August 2nd through Label Fandango Records and the band will be aiming to make 2010 the year that they make an undeniable mark on the UK indie music scene.

'Not Jealous' is de tweede single van het nieuwe album van El Pino & The Volunteers; The Long-lost Art of Becoming Invisible. Het is een duet geschreven en gezongen door David Pino en Janne Schra (voorheen Room Eleven). Het nummer was al eerder in een geheel andere uitvoering te horen op het Room Eleven album 'Mmm… Gumbo?'. De bijbehorende videoclip bevat door Pino en Schra gefilmde 8mm beelden van een trip op Vancouver Island, Canada. De video werd geregisseerd door Jaap Hermans, naar een idee van Johan Kramer en David Pino.
Jaap Hermans tekende eerder al voor de regie van de typografische videoclip voor 'There's No Cure for Stupidity', de eerste single van de plaat.
